BAR CODE INCLUDED: The 2002-2005 Mini Cooper key fob will come with a bar code that's necessary to give to your automotive locksmith for programming.

Compatibility 1: FCC ID/Part number of current remote MUST match one of the FCC ID N5FVALTX3 listed below.
Compatibility 2: Original remote, key, transponder chip type and frequency must match the 2002-2005 Mini Cooper fob pictured and detailed.

PROGRAMMING:
Requires a qualified automotive locksmith. Please Contact a local qualified automotive locksmith in your area prior to purchase to be sure they have the proper add-on equipment to program this remote to your vehicle.
3 Steps:
1. The valet key must be cut by a qualified automotive locksmith to match your vehicle's ignition
2. The 2002-2005 Mini Cooper fob must be programmed by a qualified automotive locksmith to your vehicle's installed RKE system.
3. The transponder chip (contained on the remote circuit board) must be programmed by a qualified automotive locksmith to sync with your vehicle's immobilizer to start your engine.

3. Then type in your ZIP code
4. click search
5. google will compile a list of local automotive locksmiths for you!
6. Call them and tell them you have a virgin/unlocked remote for (your) Make Model & Year vehicle - And ASK if they have the equipment to sync it with your car.

New Key: This remote comes with a brand new key blade. It is ready to be cut by a locksmith to fit your vehicle's ignition.

Programming:
METHOD #1:
1. close all doors
2. switch ignition to KL-R(1st turn) switch off within 5 seconds remove key
3. within 30 seconds press and hold the unlock button and at the same time press and release the lock button 3 times---must be completed in 10 seconds
4. release both buttons the doors will lock/unlock to signal a successful initalization
5. if additional keys need to be initialized repeat step 3&4 within 30 seconds
6. switching the ignition to KL-R completes the initialization
METHOD #2:
PROGRAMMING 3 Steps:
1. You will need to have the key cut by a qualified automotive locksmith to match your vehicle's ignition. Contact your local qualified automotive locksmith PRIOR to purchase to be sure they can program it, sync your immobilizer chip and cut it for you.
2. You will need to have the remote programmed by a qualified automotive locksmith to your vehicle's installed RKE system.
3. You will need to have the transponder chip programmed by a qualified automotive locksmith to sync with your vehicle's immobilizer to start your engine.
Unlocked remotes are not eligible for returns of any kind.
