How Do you find the right keyless remote?

Verify the remote is exactly what you need (FCC ID # & Part #) or verify the remote is compatible w/ your vehicle's RKE system & VIN#.

Check the back of your current remote to match the FCC ID# & Part# with the keyless entry you want to order - your old remote's #'s and the one you want to purchase must match. ...OR...Inquire with a local auto dealer or locksmith as to which FCC ID# or Part# you will need to work with your vehicle's installed RKE system.

Please have your VIN# handy before you call...(Your VIN# can be found on your vehicle registration card or on the lower right-hand corner (driver's side) of your windshield.)

Please note: Even though this keyless remote is compatible with your Make Model & Year vehicle.... ~It will NOT work for ALL vehicles with your Make Model & Year This strictly depends on the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) system installed in the vehicle.

Will programming the key fob to my vehicle be complicated?

FREE manufacturer programming requirements
Most remotes have very simple do-it-yourself programming instructions. You do not need to be a mechanic to program the remote to your car - takes 5 minutes! Some make, models, & years require diagnostic programming available at your local dealer or locksmith.

IF...your make, model, & year requires diagnostic programming instructions or if you find the programming instructions to complicated THEN...you will need to have your auto key remote programmed to your vehicle at a local dealer or locksmith.

Dealer's typically charge for one hour of service in order to do this for you. Locksmith's are typically much less expensive.

On many of our keyless remote controls we offer a variety of conditions (good, faded buttons, broken loops) so that you can choose the remote that best suits your needs. troubleshooting tips

Programming
Did you program the keyless remote control to your vehicle?

Batteries
All remotes sold on Keyless Remote Warehouse include working batteries. Installed batteries are not tested for battery life- they are simply working. Some are new and some are used. We sell NEW replacement batteries, so if your remote runs out of juice, buy one of our batteries and revive it. They're inexpensive, so keep a spare to have uninterrupted safety & convenience.

Did you verify that the remote's FCC ID # & PART # is compatible with your vehicle's installed RKE system?
Check the back of your current remote to match the FCC ID & PART #'s w/ the one you received - they need to match. Inquire with your local dealer as to which FCC ID & PART # you need for the RKE system installed in your vehicle. Even though this keyless remote (FCC ID / PART # ) is compatible w/ your make model year, it does NOT work for ALL vehicles w/ your make model & year. It strictly depends on RKE (remote keyless entry) system installed in the vehicle. You must program remotes within 10 seconds of each other. IF you are programming 2 remotes & 1 is not programming please remember that when programming 2 or more remotes. Entering the programming mode cancels all learned keyless remotes. Previously programmed remotes will not work. You must reprogram all keyless remotes once you're in program mode. You must complete each step within 4 seconds of previous step to keep system from exiting program mode.

Your vehicle will be installed with one of the following keyless entry systems
Standard Keyless Remote Package: Installed at time of manufacture.
Optional Keyless Remote Package: Installed by a dealer.
Aftermarket Keyless Remote Package: Installed by previous owner or a shop.
No remote keyless entry system at all.

The above information can change which remote you need for your installed remote keyless system.. If you do not have an old remote to compare FCC ID & PART #'s to please contact a local dealer or locksmith with your vehicle's VIN #.

What is a Data Link Connector?

What is a data link connector?

This is a part on your car that is usually located under the driver s side dash. Under the steering column there will be a box shaped like a rhombus (a rectangular shape that is wider at either the top or bottom). This is the DLC or data link connector. Sometimes it is in the car upside down. The top part should be wider than the bottom. The terminals (or slots) should read top left to bottom right, so terminal 1 would be on the top left. This part is sometimes used by auto parts stores and mechanics to determine why your check engine light is on, but it can also be used to put some cars into programming mode as to program a keyless entry remote (clicker, key fob, or transmitter). When some instructions ask you to jump terminals 4 and 8 (or whichever numbers the directions specify) they mean to put a wire into both terminals at the same time. The easiest way to do this is to make a U shape out of a paperclip and physically stick both one end into slot 4 and the other end into slot 8. Don t worry, you will not get shocked. There is very little juice flowing through this circuit . It is about the same as touching an AAA battery
