What happens if you buy a used remote that was not unlocked / reflashed?
 Unfortunately "Dodge Chrysler Jeep" developed a technology in some of their key fobs that makes it impossible to re-program the "Dodge Chrysler Jeep" smartkey fob to another vehicle unless the key fob remote has been erased or flashed. Once the key fob is programmed to a vehicle, it can only be re-programmed to that vehicle unless an erase or flash service is done. We ONLY sell these "Dodge Chrysler Jeep" remotes that have been cleared for you.

METHOD #1: 
DIY
Programming Notes: 
If you currently have two working remotes, programming can be done by using the programming instructions located in your owner s manual. If you do not have two working remotes you will need to go to a dealer or locksmith for programming. 
Programming Instructions
**You MUST HAVE two working programmed transmitters before
 you can add a third transmitters.
**If you only have ONE WORKING TRANSMITTER and want to add a
 second transmitter this procedure WILL NOT WORK.
*** Click here to Find a Locksmith in your area to program transmitter
 if you only have one or none working transmitters.
1. Using first programmed transmitter turn ignition to the ON position
 for 3 seconds but no longer than 15 seconds.
 (Do not crank engine). Turn transmitter off and remove.
2. Within 15 seconds insert second working programmed transmitter.
 Turn ignition to the ON position (Do not crank engine) After 10 seconds
 an acoustic signal will be heard and immobilizer warning lamp wil
 flash. Turn transmitter OFF and remove second programmed
 transmitter.
3. Within 60 seconds insert third NEW non-programmed transmitter into
 ignition and turn to the ON position (Do not crank engine).
 After 10 seconds an acoustical signal will be heard and immobilizer
 warning lamp will illuminate for 3 seconds. 
4. Turn transmitter to the OFF position and remove.
5. Test transmitters.
 Repeat procedure for additional transmitters if required.
 A maximum of 8 transmitters can be programmed.

with coding machine and special software. Locksmith or dealer will program remote for you. 
The remote you purchase needs to be programmed to work on your vehicle. Programming can only be done by a dealer or automotive locksmith with the correct programming equipment for your vehicle. Fees for programming are not included in the purchase price. Please check with your local dealership or locksmith to make sure they can properly program this remote before purchasing. Purchase includes security key blank.
UNLOCKED remotes are not eligible for return -- any returns requested/received on UNLOCKED remotes will not be authorized.
